belle of the week: madelyn

i thought a lot about what i was going to name my posts featuring other girl's styles. i decided to go with "belle of the week", because a) belle means beauty (and all my friends are beauties), 2) disney reference, duh!, and 3) we're from kentucky so we're all southern belles around here. i am beyond excited to launch this part of my website, because i get to be behind the camera, and someone else gets to be the focus. the premise, is i will find girls in my community who have their own sense of style. they will pick out their own outfits, i will
do their hair and makeup how they feel most comfortable, take their pictures, and write a blog post on them! i have a feeling this is going to be a pretty awesome segment. our belle of the week is madelyn, my cousin. her outfit consists of a blingy statement necklace, a patterned romper, and some cute flats. keep reading for more details!

for madelyn's makeup, i wanted to keep it pretty neutral to make her brown eyes pop.
face of the day:
maybelline bb cream (medium)
e.l.f. hd lifting concealer (light)
nyc loose face powder (translucent)
nyc bronzing face powder (sunny)
e.l.f. blush palette (light)
eyes:
sally girl single eyeshadow (rising star)
l'oreal high intensity pigment: (progressive)
clinique single eyeshadow: (name rubbed off )
e.l.f. mineral eyeshadow (wild)
covergirl lash blast volume (very black)

for her hair, i decided to curl it with my conair you curl curling wand, it can be purchased at target . i love this curling wand, because for the longest time i thought me trying to have curly hair was a lost cause, but this thing is amazing. i think it could curl pretty much anyone's hair, and the best part is, the curls stay for a day or two, so you don't have to fuss with your hair the next day. it's also great because it takes about 20-30 minutes tops.

the cute little romper she has on is form charlotte russe, i couldn't find the exact one, but i found a similar option. the pale pink color adds a girly touch, and the fit of it is perfect because it's a good length, and it isn't overly tight fitting. the palm print is totally appropriate for summer, but could also be taken into the cooler months with black tights, and a leather jacket. the statement necklace and charm bracelet are both from versona. i had never heard of this place, and she said she loves it because they have really trendy and flashy jewelry for affordable prices.

the flats are actually borrowed from my mom, and from the material girl line at macy's juniors' section. i would recommend everyone have a cute pair of black flats in their closet, because they will go with just about any look, but make sure they're comfortable! they were purchased a while back ago, so i'm sure you couldn't get them now. however, you can find patent leather, open toed flats just about anywhere. (literally 1,140,000 google search results), but here are a couple links for you: nine west - lord and taylor

i hope you enjoyed my belle of the week, and had as much fun reading as i did taking the pictures. i'm really looking forward to featuring more women in my blog!
xo, hailey.
