my favorites from: eyes lips face

hey beautiful people! i'm so sorry that i've been away from my blog for a little over a week now. i was out of town, training for a job, and now that i don't have a laptop anymore, it would've been impossible to blog while i was out of town and give you guys the best content i possibly could! but don't worry, i have plenty of great posts coming up this week. i move back to school into a dorm on saturday & sunday (8/23), so i will have a lot of posts on that, and i'll be sure to show you all around my room, and give you tips and tricks on living on campus. i'm really excited to get back to school and into a routine again. are you guys excited to get back to school

i'm now completely off topic from the whole point of this post, which is to tell you all about my e.l.f. cosmetics favorites! the best thing about this company, like i've said many times, is that everything is under $10!! if you're looking to build up your makeup collection, you have to try out these products. i have used a lotttt of makeup products from this company in my life, and a lot of the things that i have loved are discontinued, so i can't recommend them to you :(. some of the things i've tried have been amazing, and others have been not so amazing.  this list is composed of the items that i have repurchased a few times, that are wonderful quality, and that i would recommend to anyone and everyone! just because something from this company didn't work for me, doesn't mean it won't work for you. everyone has different preferences, so keep that in mind. some pros of e.l.f. are: the prices, the quality, their promo codes, huge selection of products, nice packaging that doesn't fall apart, you can now get them in some drugstores! some cons are: the inconsistency.. okay so i have bought some things from e.l.f. and loved them so much, so i got another of the exact same product, and it wasn't as great of quality. so i don't know what the deal is with that, but it's happened to me a couple of times. okay i'm going to quit rambling and get into the details of the products! if you want to see my must haves from e.l.f. cosmetics, keep reading :)

if you're interested in purchasing e.l.f., i have found them at target, rite-aid, walmart, and on the e.l.f. website!

face:

e.l.f. studio blush palette - light $6.00: this palette is gorgeous! it has a mid-toned, matte pink, a matte, red-ish pink color (my favorite), a tan, peachy, matte color, and lastly a very glittery hot pink color. they're all so great and each give off a very different look. i know glittery blushes can be a turn off for a lot of people, but it just gives such a beautiful color, and it doesn't make you look greasy or anything. the products are very buttery, smooth, and pigmented. i definitely think this is one of those products everyone should have because if you're going somewhere, you can just throw it in your bag and you'll have four different blushes, all in one place. it also has a great mirror, which is super handy! i will say, if you're not into very bright and bold cheeks, then try to apply these with a stippling brush or a light hand, because these are very pigmented.

e.l.f. studio mineral infused face primer - clear $6.00: i haven't used this product in quite a while, but is such a great staple for everyone's makeup collection. if you don't typically use a face primer, buy this primer and try it out, because all you have to lose is $6.00! this is one of those primers that has the silicone feel, which are my personal favorites. i applied it with my hands, and put it where my makeup would typically crease or get greasy (my t zone, under the eyes, and my chin). it gives you a nice, even canvas to work on each time you apply it, and it doesn't feel to heavy on your face. you can see a noticeable difference in how smooth your skin looks, and how much easier the rest of your makeup goes on if you apply this product before your typical face makeup.

e.l.f. studio high definition powder - sheer $6.00: a lot of e.l.f. face powders are way too chalky and thick, but this one is actually really great. it gives your face that "airbrushed" look, and i mean who doesn't want that?! one thing that i will say about this product is that it doesn't last you very long, i think it lasted me a couple of weeks, but i'm also an over-powder-er..?! as in, i looooove face powder and really layer it on, so my face makeup will stay all day, and this product didn't get all cakey, because it is so finely milled.

e.l.f. studio hd lifting concealer - fair $3.00: if you've seen my outfit of the day posts, you'd know that this is my everyday concealer. it's a really wonderful product. it has a doe foot applicator, which makes it easy to apply. since it's so smooth, i like to just blend it out under the eyes and anywhere i might have redness with my fingers. it does a great job of hiding those (valentino) bags under my eyes.

e.l.f. studio contouring blush and bronzing powder - antigua $3.00: if you're familiar with the nars cheek duos, these are the same concept. it comes with a blush and a corresponding  bronzer. they have four different combinations on the website, and when i bought mine, there was only one option! back then, i really didn't know how to contour or use a bronzer to it's full advantages so i mostly just stuck to using the blush. however, the bronzer would be great as a contour shade, and now that they have different options, you can decide which one would be best for your skin tone! and the blush is shimmery, blendable, and a lot less intense than the blushes i talked about earlier.

lips:
e.l.f. studio matte lip color - natural $3.00: the last time i ordered from the website, there were only like three options on what colors they had in this product, so i have two of them. one in tea rose, and one in natural. this is a nice lipstick if you typically have issues trying to apply your lipstick because it has a thinner, lip liner-like design. i prefer to blot these lipsticks with a tissue  after i apply them, and that makes them last a long time. the color selection is very nice, and these are actually the only lipsticks i have tried from e.l.f.

eyes:
e.l.f. essential slant tweezer $1.00: just thought i would add this to the list because i have a million of these floating around my house. they work just as well as any tweezers i've used in my lifetime (and i've used a lot), so if you don't want to spend too much on a pair, i would suggest for you to try these out.

e.l.f. essential shadow lock eyelid primer - sheer $2.00: i haven't used any high end eye primers that i could compare this one to, but i do know that when i use this, my eye shadow application is a billion times better, it makes it last longer, and it makes the colors bolder than usual. when i do people's makeup, a lot of times they have no idea what i'm doing when i put on an eye shadow primer. i cannot stress enough how important it is that you use an eye shadow primer. you can make dollar store eye shadows look amazing if you just know to prime before hand. 90% of the time, when people say they could never do their eye shadow like mine, i ask if they use a primer, and the answer is no. you are going to have no luck with your eye shadow looks, even if you are using really great eye shadow. okay i'm done preaching!

e.l.f. essential clear brow & lash mascara - crystal $2.00: the one and only eyebrow mascara i have ever used. there is probably a better one out there, but this one works perfectly fine for me, so. if you have your eyebrows 100% on fleek, it won't mean anything until you set them with some clear mascara, because they won't stay in place. i even used this product when i didn't do anything with my eyebrows, and i just used it to tame them and keep them from sticking out. so basically everyone can use this product!

e.l.f. essential brightening eye color - drama $1.00: this set is the first palette i ever used to make a smokey eye, and i still use it to this day. i remember watching youtube videos over and over again on smokey eyes, and i finally thought i was ready to try it myself, so i grabbed this palette from my collection, and ended up rocking it! i've probably gone through three or four of these quads in my life. it has a matte white, which you could use for your highlight, a super shimmery (almost glittery) charcoal grey color, which is a great crease color, a shimmery black, and a metallic silver color that would be used on the lid. i have a lot more of these little quads, but i guess they have gotten discontinued recently. i noticed that on the website, they had a new line of quads that had a large color selection, i would recommend looking at those if you're looking for a neutral palette.

what are some of your favorite e.l.f. products? please let me know. hope you guys enjoyed! :)
xo, hailey

  4. Great to see all of the different products ELF offers. I'm also looking forward to hearing what you have to say about living in the dorms. I remember what it was like even though it was a few years ago, and it's always interesting to hear the experiences people have.
