super cute do it yourself bar stool

happy friday beautiful people! tomorrow and sunday i move back into the dorms, and i needed to update my furniture collection. i did this easy diy last night in about 15 minutes, and i thought it could come in handy for some of you! we've had these stools hidden away in our garage for years, and they were just taking up space. if you can't find stools to match your kitchen/living area, buy some cheap ones and make your own. if you decide to do this diy, post a picture on instagram and tag me in it :) hope you guys enjoy!! :)

ps: today is my one month of blogging anniversary! so excited. thank you guys so much for all of the support. you guys are the bomb. :)

supplies:
1. shears
2. hot glue gun & sticks
3. fabric of your choice
4. padding fabric

and of course, your stool. mine has been in our house for years, and has, clearly, been through a lot.

step one: fold your padding fabric in half to "double it up" so the stool will be extra cushioned. then cut around the shape of the stool, leaving about an inch hanging over, so you can tuck the unfinished ends under.

step two: flip the stool over on its seat, and apply hot glue to the edge of the padding fabric. fold that over the underneath of the stool, pulling tightly, so there are no wrinkles.

step three: continue doing step two around the circumference of the fabric/stool. this is what your stool should like with just the padding fabric on it. it's looking better already!

step four: once again, cut your "pretty" fabric in the shape of the stool, leaving about an inch to tuck around the edges.

step five: apply hot glue around the circumference of the "pretty" fabric, and fold over onto the bottom of the stool.

this is what your stool should look like in the end! pretty nice, huh? i'm kind of in love with how it turned out! hope you guys enjoyed!
