wet'n'wild mega last lip color review: lip swatches & more

have you ever had a product that you find so amazing in every single aspect, and you just feel like you need to shout it from rooftops, incorporate it into every single conversation you have, and take it out to dinner and a movie? that's how i feel about wet 'n' wild's mega last lip colors. what is so special about some $2 lipstick, you might be asking? well, let me just fill you in. a lot of times, i feel like you get what you pay for when it comes to makeup, and you're better off investing in nicer, quality makeup than drugstore. buuuuuut, these lipsticks are fire.  they have 26 different, bright shades (i'll be talking about the 14 that i have). pretty much any color you could want, you will find in this line. on top of that, the lipsticks are better quality than any lipstick i have ever tried in my life..bible. generally speaking, the application on this product is so nice. it's creamy and buttery, with a matte finish. matte finish lipsticks are my favorite, because they stay much longer, and i just don't like shiny or shimmery colors on my lips, personally. i have literally gone to sleep with this stuff on, and woken up with it in pristine condition. in my lip swatches, i didn't apply any lip liner beforehand, because i wanted you all to get the true color of the lipsticks, but for some of them, i would recommend a lip liner to keep them from feathering. i tend to use the darker shades more than the lighter ones, but it's all about personal preference. like i said, these lipsticks are $2, and sometimes, if you check your local drugstore ads, you can find a sale on wet 'n' wild products, making them even less expensive. the only downside i might mention would be the packaging. the lids fall off on me a lot, and if they're in my purse or makeup bags, it's kind of a nightmare. aside from that one fault, you need to try out these lipsticks, and trust me, once you do, you will be singing their praises just like i am. you can buy them at your local drugstore, or the wet 'n' wild website - here. if you want to continue to hear me rave on and on about this product, and go into details with all of the colors, keep reading :)

ps: i just bought 8 more of these lipsticks, so i will do another blog post on the rest of them once i complete my collection.

pink suga (900b): this color is very, very nude, with a bit of an orange undertone. i have tried and tried for years to find a way for me to pull off this color, and it just isn't happening. i could see it working for other skin tones though, it just isn't for me. the application is a little chalky and dry.

bare it all (902c): a very natural nude, with a pink undertone. i like to wear this color with a dramatic eye shadow look, because it's so basic and natural. the application is nice on this one.
*comparable to mac's "honey love" lipstick

think pink (901b): warm-toned light pink color, very light & bright. i'm a big fan of this lipstick because it's very girly. the application on this one is extremely smooth.
 *comparable to mac's "angel" lipstick

just peachy (903c): light coral and pink color. application is nice on this one. not one that i pick up on a regular basis, because i'm just not a fan of peachy shades on my skin tone.

dollhouse pink (967): hot, hot, barbie, pink color. very blue toned. the application is like butter on this lipstick. the only downside is that it can tend to make your teeth look yellow (a lot of blue toned lipsticks do). i like to use this one with a neutral eye look and bright cheeks.
*comparable to mac's "st. germain" lipstick

mauve outta here (907c): mauve (obviously) color, with a bit of a blue tone, still much more neutral than the above shade. this is my go-to nude lipstick. it is so amazing, it brightens your whole face up and can completely pull together an entire makeup look. get this one.

in the flesh (912c): this one is a pinky, nude color, for me it's a mlbb (my lips but better) color. i feel very kylie jenner when i wear this one, and i know her lips are all the rage right now so..

24 carrot gold: straight up orange shade. i've always had this image in my head of having a neutral eye shadow look with winged eyeliner, bronze-y skin, and bring orange lips. so when i saw this lipstick for $2, i figured i could give orange a shot. i've only rocked it a couple of times, but i really really like this one.

wine room (906d): this is more of a dark nude, with warm undertones. it's a great shade if you're into darker nudes, which are actually becoming increasingly popular these days. this isn't one that i grab for a lot, but it's still a nice shade.

cherry picking (965): standard hot pink color, with cool undertones. to me, this color just screams "katy perry", back when she was first on the scene and wore that hot pink lipstick with winged liner (which she actually noted in a  seventeen magazine article circa 2008, that shade was mac's "girl about town"). i love this color and it's the one i go to when i want a pink lip.
*comparable to mac's "love goddess" lipstick

stoplight red (911D): bright, warm toned red. very simple color. i think this was the first ever lipstick i bought from this brand, and let me tell ya, it has been through hell. but this is my favorite shade ever, and it's definitely the one i have wore the most of. red lips make me feel about 6000x prettier, and this one is just phenomenal, and it makes your teeth look white.
*comparable to mac's "ruby woo" lipstick
.
cinnamon spice (917d): a burnt, brown-y, red color. not something i would typically go for at all, but i decided to get it since it was $2, and i actually really enjoy it. it's nice if you don't want an intense red that day.

cherry bomb (918d): a very dark, brick, intense red color, with cool undertones. this is like the only lipstick i wear in the fall/winter months. i mean, it just transforms any outfit into bad ass bitch. i love it, and the application is great. if you're scared of how dark it is, trying blotting your lips after you apply it, and it eases the color up a bit.
*comparable to mac's "diva" lipstick

vamp it up (919b): a very, very dark plummy, purple shade, it almost looks black on the lips, but i love this lipstick when i want to go for a dramatic lip.
*comparable to mac's "cyber" lipstick

  2. I love this line!! I own Bare It All and Vamp It Up, as well as quite a few of their plum and maroon shades. I did a post on the ones I own a while back, and this has reminded me how much I love the ones I have! Great post!
